The Indira Gandhi National Pension for Old Age

Older adults without access to other sources of income are eligible for pensions under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme. The state’s elderly population is no longer obliged to rely on others for necessities thanks to the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension program. The local government now oversees the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, which was previously under the control of the social welfare department. Applications must be accepted, processed, and approved before the pension money may be deposited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts by the municipality and corporations.

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme

The Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme provides financial help to widowed women who are without other sources of income. To address the budgetary constraints, the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme was introduced. This pension plan was once administered by the social welfare department, but new regulations have moved the management of it to the local government. Receiving the application, processing it, and then authorizing the transfer of the pension funds into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts are the responsibilities of the local body.

Agricultural Worker’s Pension

Laborers who work in agricultural fields are eligible for an agricultural worker pension. Kerala’s Department of Labour once oversaw the farm worker pension scheme, but new regulations have moved the management of the program to the local government. Applications for this pension plan are first accepted by the local organization, which then processes them and deposits the monies into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Local governments are in charge of making sure that pension payments are made to recipients on schedule. Under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, widow pensions and disability pensions are two of the three types of pensions available. The district collector’s consent is also necessary under this pension plan. The central government is responsible for financing this pension plan.

The Keralan government is giving each of those women a stipend of Rs. 1500 so they may meet their necessities. This pension plan will assist women in becoming self-sufficient.
