The Karnataka Saptapadi Programme provides financial support to eligible brides and grooms up to Rs. 55,000. The government arranges mass marriage programs at designated temples around the state. The Karnataka government’s flagship program aims to lessen the financial burden on low-income families who cannot afford to pay for their children’s weddings. Benefits of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana
Some of the key benefits of the Yojana are as follows:
- The program’s implementation of mass marriages for the state’s impoverished citizens is one of its primary advantages.
- Additionally, it is stated that each couple will receive a total of 55,000 rupees to cover their ongoing needs.
- The following items will be included in the 55,000 rupee incentive:-
- A 40,000 rupee mangal sutra for the wedding
- Rs. 5,000 to the groom in cash
- Rs. 10,000 to the bride in cash
Features of Saptapadi Vivah Yojana
Some of the key features of the Yojana are as follows:
- The Karnataka government initiates a program to support the weaker segments of society with financial aid.
- The government would provide the married pair with financial assistance of Rs 55,000 under the plan.
- Along with cash of Rs 5000, the groom will receive a shirt and dhoti.
- To make Mangalyaan (Mangalsutra), the bride will receive a saree, Rs 1,000 in cash, and 8 grams of gold.
- Therefore, the entire amount of aid will be roughly 55,000 rupees.
- The government split the marriage ceremony into two slots, which were used twice in the first year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The applicants applying for Yojana must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The candidates must be authorized long-term residents in the state of Karnataka.
- Only with the presence of the parents of both the bride and the groom at the ceremony can the marriage be consummated.
- The marriage will only take place in a few chosen temples.
- Those entering into love marriages are not covered by this plan.
- The bride must be at least eighteen years old.
- The groom must be at least 21 years old.
- Only Hindu weddings are eligible for the program.

Registration Process for Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana 2024
- Candidates must register offline as there is currently no option for online registration.
- Applicants must visit the chosen Muzrai Temples, where these marriages are performed, to register.
- At least 30 days before the wedding day, applicants must register at the registration location.
- They must submit the registration form and the necessary paperwork.
- They receive information about the marriage after completing the registration and verifying their details.
